Come on, admit it, life's not so bad

Reni 041Reni 001The sales are beginning early, planes are half empty, estate agents fear they are on the brink of a recession and stockbrokers are in despair. Our newspapers and television screens are rightly full of accounts of the disasters hurricane Katrina have caused, and it's a constant topic of conversation. And the devil is having a ball, sucking in evil men who are doing their best to undermine God's authority.By their fruits you will know them. And they prey on christians. They are demon possessed. And Satan is devouring their liers, and spreading this garbage on the internet. The most capacious minds praise most-cranks and misfits praise least.Swearing is the crutch of the conversationist cripple.
Please read the above prayer daily.'Woe to those who call evil good'.
When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas state, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but that was what they heard. We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
We have coveted our neighbour's possessions and called it ambition.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have spent billions on Iraq, and call it just.
We humbly confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your word, and called it Pluralism.
But what was most encouraging, and pleasing, was the response, which was as dramatic as it was immediate.A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In six short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev.Wright is pastor, logged more than 8,000 phone calls with only 27 of those calls responding negatively.
I am an advocate of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), and want all sensible christians to embrace change in their hectic lives. And I can spot a phony by their writing, and their crude remarks. When die-hard agnostics, and cranks respond unfaviourable to Rev.Wright's plea, I just say'I repudiate their petulant expostulations'.Either they are too ignorant to comprehend good english, or they are too stupid to give a positive, welcoming reply. And it is so comforting to hear that Rev.Wright's church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story", and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God".Halellujah.Amen
And to be positive and loving to all those blissfully ignorant sceptics, who allow profanity and pornography to appear on their blogs, and to know that only through the saving power of Jesus Christ, can they be delivered from the evil power of the devil, and all his lies.Life goes on and we can't be bothered by insensitive bigots, and evil people bent on destrying God's chosen few. There's still lots of joy in living and it seems an appropriate moment to say'let's value what we have'.It is a particular glorious autumnal day today, and their is so much beauty in the forest of Barn Hill, where I live.I overlook 259 beautiful acres of woodlands, and there are several ponds, where herons nest, and ducks frequent.
So we must embrace all the wonderful joys that our maker gives us, and be grateful.
Two weeks agoI went with my beautiful wife to Twelfth Night at the Memorial theatre in Stratford and Guy Henry was the funniest Malvolio I've ever seen.Afterwards we had supper at the Dirty Duck and toasted the late theatre critic Jack Tinker, who held court there after every first night. He, more than anybody, knew about relishing the moment.
En route we had a delicious lunch in the sun in a pretty Gloucestershire pub.I thought how lucky we are in Britain to have marvellous pubs and how we take for granted the good humour and tireless dedication of these men and women who run them.
On Tuesday, I am attending an open evening at a world famous choir.I love singing, and will definately join in, and do some much neglected sight reading. That should be fun.Another challenge.
Finally, yesterday I experienced a moment of pure, unadulterated happiness.I invited a top NLP practitioner to our poetry evening. She regaled us with such enthusiasm, and we all gave her a standing ovation.Wouldn't you like to attend too?Playing Duets
